Hello,
I am currently looking to buy a Toshiba Satellite L750/0QM for $630 AUD. I am wondering how good does it support Ubuntu and what drivers what I need to install if any. Also is there any features that will not work with the Toshiba Satellite L750/0QM?
I purchased new Toshiba Satellite M505-S4945 laptop and installed 64-bit Jaunty. Everything works great except that the fan cannot be turned on due to broken ACPI tables from Phoenix BIOS. The fan makes a big difference (40C vs 70+C).
I bought a Toshiba L750-22Z running Ubuntu 12.04. Everything it's working fine except I can't see the icon of the battery and I never know how empty or full it is...
The configuration obviously is correct ("Swow when battery present"). And I downloaded toshset but when I type 'sudo toshset' it says that the kernel is wrong...
Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit. Function keys are only working after suspending the laptop. Workaround is to boot the machine, then suspend immediately. This problem has been persistent and I have yet to find any solutions.
Any help is appreciated.
My daughter's 64 bit Toshiba Satellite L655 suffered from the common Toshiba laptop problem of Invisible battery under Fedora 16.
dmesg | grep batt
would report Battery absent. This appears to be common with Toshiba laptops under Fedora, Ubuntu, Centos, Debian, and BackTrack Linux. Online research pointed to custom kernels, which sound like a headache; and a simpler way using Grub2.
I saw these laptops at the Ubuntu website.
http://www.ubuntu.com/certification/...ategory=Laptop
It says here that these laptops are certified by Ubuntu. It says that these laptops are certified. Particularly I am looking at the laptops with hybrid graphics, but how sure am I that these laptops will run well under Ubuntu? Is the driver pre-installed?
My Mom bought a laptop last year, it was a low end laptop. It's a Toshiba Satellite C650 I think.
I notice that once the laptop has been idle for awhile, the wireless internet disables, and I have to restart it to get it working again.
The laptop is set up the same as the rest of the computers, and non of the others have any problem with it.
Toshiba has just released the new gaming laptop called Satellite A665-3DV. This new gaming notebook comes with high quality component and high end specification complete with nVidia 3D Vision feature. The Satellite A665-3DV equipped with a 15.6-inch widescreen HD TreBrite LED-Backlit display, a large and sensitive touchpad.
I am using Toshiba Satellite L645 with Ubuntu 12.10 installed in it. Bluetooth icon does not show up on the top task bar. When i try to switch it on from System Settings, the buttons don't work.
