My Canon Pixma has been working for a year now and recently, when I tried printing on photo paper for the first time, it filled the paper with black ink. I tried to fix it by editing the properties of the printer. After printing a test page, the smudge cleared and I was able to print on normal paper again. I did not print on photo paper anymore since it looks like the printer can not handle it.
