[kubuntu] multiple monitors

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi, Can somebody explain how to make a multiple-monitor setup (where my screen is spread across several monitors)? Why? How can I make it larger? In KDE's System Settings/Display/Multiple monitors I have an error message: This module is only for configuring systems with a single desktop spread across multiple monitors. You do not appear to have this configuration. So how can I have this configuration? I have libxinerama1 installed. Should it be specifically enabled? Where? Here somebody is saying that xinerama is deprecated: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...ce/+bug/403610 Are xrandr and xinerama two exclusive tools, or they complete each other? Some people suggest that I should edit xorg.conf, adding a 'Virtual' line to the screen section, however, I would like to avoid this (by the way I don't even find the /etx/X11/xorg.conf, X seems to be using an automatic dynamic configuration...). Total confusion. Any help is appreciated. Thanks (Hardware)
