The Ubuntu team is very pleased to announce the release of Ubuntu 12.10 for Desktop, Server, Cloud, and Core products.
There is no longer a traditional CD-sized image, DVD or alternate image, but rather a single 800MB Ubuntu image that can be used from USB or DVD.

Kubuntu 12.10 Beta 2 has been announced on September 27th, along with the other distributions from Canonical.

The first beta of Kubuntu 12.10 has been released. It, of course, features an updated kernel (3.5.3), KDE 4.9, and new graphical applications for multimedia use.
Unlike Ubuntu 12.10 beta 1, this release of Kubuntu still makes the alternate installer CD ISO installation image available for download.
