http://ubuntuforums.org – Hello everyone! I'm new to Ubuntu and I installed Ubuntu 9.10 Netbook Remix thinking that this OS should run faster then XP since I only have 1 Gb of memory on my Acer Aspire One netbook. After couple of hours of trying to get everything working here in Ubuntu I finally got the Network sharing working with my Windows XP Desktop, my only problem is still getting my HP Deskjet F4180 All in One printer working. Is simple, my HP Printer is connected via USB to my Desktop PC (Windows XP SP3) but Ubuntu Netbook is connected via wireless to my network. My HP Printer is enabled for sharing, the name of it is HPPrinter, I also tried the "Printing" sharing under my Ubuntu Netbook and I can't get it to work. I thought the problem was the driver but after reading some threads I installed the Linux Drivers for my HP Printer from this website: http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/index.html After installing the driver the setup asked me to choose a printer, so I picked "Network printer" but is not finding anything... then i went back to add the printer manually with the "Printing" option under Ubuntu and I can't get it to work, probably I'm doing something wrong with the printer setting or I'm missing something? No error messages, it just doesn't print anything. (Hardware)
