Hello
I have an old PC running Kubuntu 12.04 LTS and also a Windows-XP computer that shares an HP Laserjet 5 printer. Id like to be able to print from Kubuntu.
Ive followed tutorials and tips trying to use this shared printer from Ku. But I am unable to print .
I am administrator of both computers, both accounts have the same name and password. The Ku.
I am trying to setup up an HP Officejet G85xi printer through an Iomega Home Media Network Hard Drive, so that the printer can be shared over the network without requiring that an attached computer be turned on to print. There is a place on the back of the Network Hard Drive to plug in the printer with USB.
Can anyone think of a way of Re-Sharing a Shared Printer? When I connect the shared printers to Server 2008 R2, it comes up as a network printer, and settings take affect on the host (not the server) so I can't Re-Share it.
The reason I need this is I have a number of workstations that run software in which I have to hardcode the printer name.
With 11.2 I had a printer, shared on the network, and able to print from my windows station.
When I updated to 11.3, the disk sharing still works fine, but the printer share is not accessable anymore.
I have no clue why, but in windows I see "Access dienied, unable to connect.
Offcourse I switched the firewall off, which is always the first thing I do :)
Hello all
I'm having trouble getting my networked printer to print and am hoping someone can lend some advice. I'm running openSUSe 11.3 on a laptop and the printer is connected to my desktop which is running Windows XP. I have the printer and several folders and drives shared. I can see the folders and drivers on my laptop but I cannot get the printer to actually print.
I know how to do it in Windows because they just taught us in class, but how do I set up a printer, connected to my Kubuntu machine by USB, to our home network so the Ubuntu and Windows computers on it can print from it? I have looked around but haven't been able to figure it out yet. Please help.
We got a new computer with Windows 7 today as the main computer for our home network. However, I'm having troubles printing to the printer from my Ubuntu 10.10 computer.
I can see the printer, but when I try to add it, it asks for a password. There are no users on the Windows 7 computer with a password.
I have an OSX Lion Server(OSX 10.7.5) acting as a CUPS(1.5.4) print server. I've added the network printer(Konica Minolta using Efi Fiery driver) and installed the appropriate drivers on the print server.
The issue I'm having is that when I try to add the shared printer on client device (OSX 10.8.2), the client is unable to download the printer driver.
I have an old but still reliable HP LaserJet 5 with a duplexing unit and the Postscript option. Until several months ago it was working just fine under Kubuntu. But at some point, which I can't pin down, the drivers no longer seemed able to handle the options. The printer does still work, however. I'm running Kubuntu Natty, fully updated.
I have two problems.
