Hi folks,My setup: I have samba installed and working (with systemd) and I'm using KDE.What I want: Configure Samba shares via Dolphin. What I already did: I added to smb.conf following lines:usershare allow guests = Yesusershare max shares = 100usershare owner only = FalseWhat works: I can add a share in Dolphin and it's properly added in /var/lib/samba/usershares/ and I can see my share
I am not able to access my windows workgoup with Dolphin. I can however with Nautilus. I think everything is set up correctly since I am able to print from the printer on the Vista machine and I can access all the shared files with Nautilus. But when I try to with Dolphin it will only show me the workgroup under Samba Shares. When I click on the workgroup nothing happens.
I installed Fedora 17 including all updates. I need to browse the Windows network where I can access and/or view the available shares (folders and printers). I cannot browse the Windows computers on the network. When I open Files from the Favorites bar and click on Browse Network, I see the "Windows Network" icon.
I seem to be having trouble getting my laptop running Kubuntu to browse through to my Samba shares on my desktop. I try browsing to it through dolphin and it either doesn't show up the domain/workgroup or it will but shows nothing inside of it.
Hey guys, I'm guessing the update to samba 4 has broken my samba partially, my samba shares seem to no longer be visible, but I can still access them. Probably an out of date config file, any chance of help with it?These are super simple shares for my family home, no passwords, simple direct guest access. Windows computers are the main clients, other than my own linux ones.
Howdy Fellas,
I'll try not to be too wordy...
Want to get my openSUSE 11.2 (fresh install) laptop to see my network shares ...not to be a server or share any files. I've looked at 50 websites and everything seems to be "server" and "share" oriented. Maybe I (newb) am confused by the terminology...
I've read several threads regarding the setup and use of Samba, and Samba has always been working fine until recently. I didn't change anything, but for some reason, it appears that Samba only resolves hosts on the default "Workgroup" workgroup. However, the /etc/samba/smb.conf file is setup to use a different workgroup.

Hi guysI installed gvfs-smb to access samba shares in Nautilus. Now there is an icon in the "Browse Network" section of Nautilus called "Windows Network". This link works sporadically. Sometimes I open it and no workgroups are present. Sometimes I'll see a workgroup but no shares are available.
