ok so for starters, im using BT5R3, no probs.
i have an EEE pc 1005HAB and it has a intel GMA 950 chipset.
my primary laptop monitor's resolution is 1024x600, works no problem.
my secondary monitor which is to the right of monitor0, is running at 1024x768.
the problem is, my 2nd monitors native resolution is 1600x1200.
I am using MSI VR440 laptop http://www.msi.com/product/nb/VR440.html#?div=Specification . The laptop uses SIS Graphics card and has the resolution of 1280x800.
When I connect a desktop LCD monitor Samsung with the resolution of 1366x768, the desktop monitor displays the same resolution as that of the laptop, showing the copy of the laptop's monitor and making it distorted.
I'm trying to use a 21.5 inches monitor (Síragon) as a secondary display for my laptop (HP Pavilion dm4-1265dx) but Ubuntu says the external monitor is "unknown" and don't let me increase the resolution above 1024x768.
Can somebody help me out please?
I have the same issue on two laptop computers with Intel Graphic Chip sets.
1st Laptop - Intel GMA 4500
Laptop display resolution is fine however external monitor will not go higher than 1024x768. On windows this computer manages 1366x768 with the same monitor.
2nd Laptop - Intel GMA 950
Laptop display resolution is fine however external monitor will not go higher than 1024x768.
I was using the monitor (Samsung SyncMaster SA100 via VGA) on desktop with good native resolution(1366x768) with sharper pixel rendering.
I just bought an Intel Atom D410PT motherboard, and installed it into a mini-ITX case. So far, everything works as expected, but the resolution is lower than it should be.
In Displays, I found that it detects two monitors, one Laptop monitor and the desktop one that I plugged into a the machine.
I am using Ubuntu 12.10 on my HP G7 laptop with a dual monitor setup. I have the laptop monitor & the other display is a 36" Sanyo HDTV. I cannot change the resolution on the 36" using the compizconfig tool OR the display tool under settings. If I set the resolution to anything except 1280x720 on this monitor, it goes dead and I get "no signal".
I have a Dell Inspiron 4000, 900 Mhz Pentium III, 192 MB RAM,10.1 GB disk running Lubuntu 12.04. When I start the computer, and I check the display resolution, Monitor Settings claims that the max resolution is 1024x768.
I have two displays; my main being an Apple Cinema Display (1920x1200), and my secondary being a Compaq W17q (1440x900).
