I just installed Kubuntu 12.04 beta 1.
Both Rekong and Firefox don't know how to "Open Containing Folder" for downloaded items. They also don't know how open the item itself. (I'll give the specific error below.)
Furthermore, if I manually tell Firefox (in the dialog) to remember the file associations, that creates a new problem.
Fedora 11 and KDE)4.4.3) when in firefox clicking to down load/open a file i get "you have chosen to open" dialog i am presented with only "Dragon Player (default) i wish to use vlc, if i choose other i'm prompted with the entire file system, i assume that vlc is located in usr/share etc but which file do i choose to get the VLC option?
Hi,
Does anyone know how to associate certain file types with Firefox. In Windows there is a menu to configure file associations in Firefox but that option doesn't seem to be available in OpenSuse Firefox. The only thing I can find is under Edit->Preferences-Applications, but there doesn't seem to be any option to add new applications in there.
:P I've used openSUSE for several versions now. Currently I'm using version 11.2 final and am experiencing a perplexing behavior related to file associations.
I downloaded a .deb from Dropbox website. When I tried to open it with Software Center, I got an error about unresolvable dependencies. Anyway, I tried again later and it worked properly. But now, every single time I launch Firefox, it pops up the dialog saying "You have chosed to download file.extension, what would you like to do?" or some such wording.
Hello, I have installed xubuntu onto my acer aspire one and have had no problems but this one.
I can not get firefox to open through any way except through the terminal.
The drop down menu ones don't work neither does the one on the dock every time i open through these i get, Profile Missing. you Firefox profile can not be loaded. it may be missing or inaccessible.
Here's a strange little problem that's cropped up for me since I installed the XFCE desktop environment (I am running standard Ubuntu 12.04 but used the repositories to get XFCE)
As is the default, I use Thunar as my file manager. I set Nautilus as preferred file manager briefly to see if it would fix the problem, but no luck.
Hi,
I'm new to using Linux so I apologise in advance for any stupid questions!
I'm using Fedora 17 x64.
I do work remotely through the use of Citrix. Now my problem currently is that when I've got Firefox open and logged into our Access Gateway and select an application to launch a pop-up appears asking me to save or open the 'launch.jsp' file.
I use KDE but use Thunderbird for email and Firefox for web. Both are working fine. However, when I click a mailto link in Firefox, the KDE mail ap starts up and I'd like it to go to TBird.
