Krita Sketch, a version of Krita for touch interfaces, has been released. Krita is a cross-platform sketching and painting application for the K Desktop Environment (KDE). It is a component of Calligra, KDE’s native Office and productivity suite.
Could someone please tell me if the VC library required for vector optimization(sse, avx) by Krita is used to build Calligra Suite package.I talked to the devs of Krita and was advised to use the library to solve some of the speed problems with Krita when resizing brushes and working with layers. Some of the operations are extremely slow.TIA!
At the KOffice meeting in Oslo the Krita team had a meeting to put the finishing touches to an ambitious plan. On hearing about it the Dot managed to lure two of the Krita developers in a separate room to question them and find out what was going on. Nobody got seriously hurt in the process.
In the last year, thanks to the help from the many sponsors in the KDE community and beyond, Krita has grown into a mature and polished application for digital artists. We've already seen many great pieces of art being produced with Krita!
But there's one thing still lacking--besides a Windows installer, which is coming--and that's good training material.
Imagine drawing anywhere with your tablet. It's now possible! KDE and KO GmbH have released Krita Sketch, the first tablet and ultrabook version of Krita, the award-winning digital painting application. Optimized for touch screens and developed with a QML interface, Krita Sketch provides everything needed to create artwork from beginning to end.
KDE.news: "The first Krita hackers started arriving on Thursday 25th, with the rest filtering in during the Friday. Thanks to KDE e.V. sponsorship, six Krita developers (every single one from a different country) were able to come as well as interaction designer -- Peter Sikking, of Gimp fame. The seventh Krita hacker was already in place!"
In what is beginning to become quite a tradition, the Krita team came together from May 20 to May 22 for the third Krita meeting. The first sprint had four attendees. Last year's, eight. This year, we had twelve people in attendance. If the trend continues, the Blender Institute, which hosted our sprint, will be too small for us next year!

After installing Krita (Qt application) I observed the window decoration is completely missing. I am unable to move or resize the window (except switching to fullscreen and back).
Searching for information I found several issues related to Compiz. But Compiz is not installed on my system.
