The Korea Linux Forum 2012, a new Linux event in Asia Pacific that brings together developers, system administrators, users, community managers, and industry experts, has started in Seul and it will end on October 12th.
The event is organized by The Linux Foundation and its purpose is to strengthen the relationship between South Korea and the global Linux development community.

After the Linux Kernel Summit was done, the Linux kernel panel had wrapped and the LinuxCon and CloudOpen keynotes were finished, there was only one thing left to do at last week's event: Skate. You might have heard rumblings and seen pictures of the skateboards that were given away as speaker and VIP gifts at this year's event (you might have even scored one).

After 16 months, The Linux Foundation has published an update to its April 2008 study on Linux kernel development. The new report, written by original authors and kernel developers Jonathan Corbet and Greg Kroah-Hartman, and the Linux Foundation’s Amanda McPherson, reveals that a net of 2.7 million additional lines of code have been added to the Linux kernel in those 16 months.
