Kinect Star Wars now with Lightsabers and Podracing

A new imagining of the original Halo plus Halo 4, Gears of War 3, Mass Effect 3 and Minecraft all slated for Xbox 360. No new hardware announcement, but plenty of choice for the millions of Kinect motion detection controller owners in the future with Microsoft confirming at E3 today details of Star Wars, Dance Central, Fable and many more Kinect enabled titles on the horizon.

Microsoft has released pricing for the Xbox 360 Kinect motion and voice sensing controller.  Arriving before Christmas and packaged with a game, Microsoft is going aggressive with its controllerless push.  News also of a new 4GB Xbox 360 Arcade model hitting the market.

All you need is a swanky hat, a single sequined glove and an Xbox 360 fitted with the Kinect motion detection controller and suddenly (or maybe, eventually) you can bust your Michael Jackson moves in the comfort of your own living room.

Efforts to make Microsoft's Kinect controller for the Xbox 360 more widely useful have taken a big step forward with the addition of Kinect support in a cross-platform multitouch interface toolkit.

Microsoft changes its stance on “hacking” the Xbox 360’s new Kinect motion controller, saying that taking and interpreting the output from a USB connection is not hacking, whereas breaking into the Kinect’s algorithms or making physical hardware changes is.

I have a almost brand new Xbox 360 Slim 250GB with Kinect. It comes with 3 controllers, 2 quick charge adapters, HDMI cable, and 3 games, Motion Sports, Kinect Adventures, and Need For Speed: Most wanted. I don't have the box or instructions. Interview:  iTWire sat down with Frazer Scott Acting Marketing Director for Xbox in Australia and asked him to elaborate on the new Xbox 360 slim as well as the no-controller Kinect system and what this new hardware will mean for Australians.

I have seen other answers for previous Ubuntu versions that did not solve my problem. For 11.10, what software is available to Install and operate the Kinect controller from the XBox.
