When I try to install Ubuntu I get the message
This kernel requires CMOV not present on cpu
What does this mean and how do I get around it?
I have an old Sony Vaio laptop. I want to install LUBUNTU on this old unit. I downloaded and try to install 12.04 but I get a message stating that the kernel requires "cmov". Is there a way to pass this parameter to the installation?
Any help/information would be appreciated.
I am trying to install Linux on a 12-year-old PC with an AMD Pentium II equivalent and with 128Mb RAM.
Xubuntu 10.04 won't install because the kernel requires "cmov" but the PC's processor doesn't have it.
