Linus has released the 2.6.33-rc8 prepatch. "I think this is going to be the last -rc of the series, so please do test it out. A number of regressions should be fixed, and while the regression list doesn't make me _happy_, we didn't have the kind...
The 2.6.34-rc7 prepatch is out. Linus says: "I think this is the last -rc - things have been pretty quiet on the patch front, although there's been some rather spirited discussions." The...
Linus has announced the 3.6-rc2 prepatch. "Anyway, with all that said, things don't seem too bad. Yes, I ignored a few pull requests, but I have to say that there weren't all that many of those, and the rest looked pretty calm. Sure, there's 330+ commits in there, but considering...

The 2.6.34-rc4 prepatch is out, about a week later than would have been expected. The delay was the result of a nasty VM regression that we'll be covering separately. All told, some 500 fixes have been merged since -rc3; see the announcement for the s...
Linus has released the 2.6.34-rc3 kernel prepatch. "Anyway, from a messy -rc2 we now have a -rc3 that should be in much better shape. Regressions fixed, and the ShortLog is short enough to be worth posting to lkml." Testers who are usin...
Linux Kernel 2.6.39 rc4 was released on Apr 18, and following is what Linus said in the release document:
So things have sadly not continued to calm down even further.
I installed the Ubuntu 11.04 and it works, however my hardware fans are making strong noises.
The noise caused by the fans is not nearly as loud when running Windows 7 on the same hardware.
Is there possibly a connectivity issue with my hardware caused by Ubuntu?
There's been a lot of noise on the internet recently about the fact that the Windows-based software being used in the remote control system of drones use by the American military has been hit by a virus and this has caused the Department of Defense (DOD) to use GNU/Linux which is a more secure option.
I'm seeing random red pixel noise all over any youtube videos I watch The only thing I can think of that may have caused it is I performed an -Syu yesterday which changed my video driver to xf86-video-intel-uxa.Any hints to the cause would be greatly appreciated.
