The kernel I'm running is Linux 3.2.0-0.bpo.3-486 i686.
Hello,
I run F12. Since some days my laptop has become very sluggish. In Mozilla, switching between the tabs takes like seconds instead of fraction of a second. Also minimizing and mximizing windows takes long. Switching between the windows too takes long. Now I can't see the cursor while typing this post.
This doesn't look right. Also, XP reports it as .999.
I believe I have too many old kernels and would like to remove a few of them. What is the best way do do this?
Here is the output of rpm -qa | grep kerenel:
Code:
Kernel 71.0 |#################### | Reads 12532 Rawin 0
User 17.5 |###### | Writes 1179 Ttyout 1376
Wait 10.0 |####
Simple enough problem I think, I just can't seem to get it right.
The below doesn't work as intended, it's just a function defined in a much larger script:
Code:
CheckValues() {
for field in \
Group_ID \
Group_Title \
Rule_ID \
Rule_Severity \

Trying to get my work laptop to play nice with my 20.1 1680x1050 monitor.

Display manager won't let me select 1680x1050 for the Dell. Just goes up to 1440x900.
My xorg.conf is as follows.

Hi Guys,
I have a AMD Semperon LE-1300 processor. Linux is saying I only have 1.006 GHz when my processor is capable of 2.3 GHz. HOW DO I FIX THIS!?!?!?
I used the command cat /proc/cpuinfo to see if it was an application that was manipulating the speed of my processor. and I got this:
Code:
processor : 0
My USB-subsystem ist not really that stable I wanted it to be: Sometimes it just stops working (mostly after I locked the screen under GNOME). Now I found recommendations how to restart the USB-subsystem without restarting the whole system:
Code:
sudo /etc/init.d/udev restart
it made the following output
Code:
baruch@baruch-laptop:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/udev restart
