Does 3.5.3-1-ARCH from [testing] work wo/ errors? Does 3.4.9-1-ARCH? I didn't understand your first post.
Been a while since I used samba but th obvious question to me is, have you installed the ARCH kernel and booted into it to test that it is indeed a ck problem?
The arch kernel package includes patches in the source tarball itself.
Love? Dunno about that... not completely convinced there is such a thing. Religious... now that is probably a more accurate descriptor.

Not using UUIDs with this... /dev/sdaX and they are fine. Ran e2fsck -v -f /dev/sda[1,3] and found nothing. Confused
