http://kdenlive.org – The 0.9.2 version of Kdenlive has been released, the source package is now available from the KDE servers. This new release fixes the most important regressions found in the 0.9 version as well as a few other issues. The crashes in the stop motion widget and composite transition are fixed, slideshows and firewire capture work again. For a full changelog, check our Kdenlive 0.9.2 info page. All users are encouraged to upgrade and report problems, we will prepare another bugfix release in a few weeks. (Software)

We are proud to announce the release of Kdenlive 0.8.

We are finally preparing the new Kdenlive release that should be out in 10 days (on the 19th of November). Many people are wondering what happened with our successful fundraising, so here is a first update: as it was clearly stated, the fundraising's goal was to clean up Kdenlive's base code. This will not produce immediate benefit for the user, but rather help us for future developments.

Kdenlive is a non-linear video editing suite that supports DV, HDC and much more formats. This simple tutorial is going to show you how to install the latest version of Kdenlive 0.9.2 (for now) and keep up-to-date in Ubuntu 12.04, 11.10, 11.04, 10.04 using PPA.

Install Kdenlive video editor from PPA: Kdenlive is available in Ubuntu Software Center, but it’s a little old.

Kdenlive 0.9.4 with fedora 17 12 weeks 3 days ago

Does anyone know how I can install the new version of kdenlive on fedora 17. Right now rpm fusion only has kdenlive 0.9.2 but the repo for fedora 18 has kdenlive 0.9.4 but I'd rather not upgrade to fedora 18.

I'm using Ubuntu 11.10 with Kdenlive Version 0.8.3 Using KDE Development Platform 4.7.4 (4.7.4)

I did try rebooting and searching on the internet, but nothing seemed to show this issue.

The only thing I can think of is that I ran up updates with Ubuntu Tweak, but they were not on kdenlive so I don't see the connection, though who knows, since it did update Avidemux and VLC.

First, to avoid misunderstanding, the camcorder (Sony DVR-PC6E) is detected by Ubuntu (12.04) and operates smoothly via dvgrab from the terminal. It also is recognised immediately in Kino, which captures normally. But in Kdenlive, which I prefer to use, it connects momentarily, then immediately disconnects, without creating a preview.
