Hey,
first off, I apologize for being unable to come up with a more succinct title.
I use my first monitor for everything that requires interaction.
My second monitor is basically a TV replacement and just runs video (fullscreen flash video, media player, whatever).
If I want to utilize the virtual desktop functionality, however, both monitors switch to Virtual Desktop #2 in one swoop.
He there I posted earlier about a resolution issue on my laptop, while I'm tinkering with that, I've tossed 11.2 on a desktop I've got laying around.
I've got a different issue with this one, so I figured I'd start i new thread.
I am running 2 monitors (well technically, one is a TV, the other is a monitor) on my desktop, and every time I set up the TV using nvidia-settings for twinview, some part of the screen ends up off the TV. The problem lies soley with the TV, and not my original monitor. I also am running the same driver on my laptop, and it has the same issue with this TV, and another TV I have used.Be
I've this situation/hardware on my desktop PC:
Ubuntu Linux Oneiric 11.10 (32 bit)
Monitor Asus VW222s (22'')
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation G92 [GeForce 8800 GS] (rev a2)
NVIDIA Driver Version: 280.13
I've no problem with my actual configuration and I can achieve 1680x1050 as expected.
What's the problem then?
I was wondering if there is anyone who has an idea how to do a display trick.
Here is the deal, I have Ubuntu on my laptop and we have a bunch of desktop computers in the university.
I am using MSI VR440 laptop http://www.msi.com/product/nb/VR440.html#?div=Specification . The laptop uses SIS Graphics card and has the resolution of 1280x800.
When I connect a desktop LCD monitor Samsung with the resolution of 1366x768, the desktop monitor displays the same resolution as that of the laptop, showing the copy of the laptop's monitor and making it distorted.
Hi,i have successfully installed Archlinux on my laptop, everything is fine! Xcfe desktop env. is able to handle dual monitor with the "xinerama" option (move windows between screens) with the "/etc/X11/xorg.conf/10-monitor.conf" config.
I am having an issue with trying to connect an external monitor to my Dell XPS laptop with Ubuntu 12. Playing with the BusID does not seem to make much difference. My default device, which I thought would be pointing to my laptop screen, is apparantly influecing where my desktop is displayed.
I am having trouble setting the correct resolution on my external monitor via HDMI
I have the gen3 Sandy Bridge processor with an Nvidia card. After I installed the Nvidia driver I got 640x800 resolution on my laptop monitor, but was able to set 1080p on my external monitor.
