KDE Spain announces Akademy-es 2011

Akademy ES is the yearly meeting of KDE developers and users in Spain. It is organized by the KDE Spain Association, and started in 2008. This year the event was organized in collaboration with the Clúster de Entidades Pro Software Libre de Aragón, the Zaragoza Council and the Fundación Zaragoza Ciudad del Conocimiento. Akademy ES took place during the 18th, 19th and 20th of May 2012.

Every year, the KDE community in Spain organizes a local Akademy event: Akademy-es. This year's event was held in Bilbao from 7th to 9th of May.

A talk being delivered Following the success of last years' event, the Spanish KDE community again held its national Akademy event, Akademy-es 2011, between the 20th and the 22nd of May 2011 in Barcelona. The event was sponsored by Google and Qt/Nokia and was supported by the Linux and Todo-Linux magazines.

While the heat of the Desktop Summit 2011 is still remaining, we are already looking for a host for Akademy 2012. Akademy is the annual gathering of the KDE community, one of the largest and most significant in the world of Free and Open Source Software. At Akademy, the KDE community gathers to exchange ideas for development and to discuss other important topics.

Dot Categories: Community and EventsIn July 2013, Akademy — the KDE community summit — will host the Qt Contributor Summit (QtCS) in Bilbao, Spain. QtCS is THE gathering of the Qt Project contributor community.

After a successful first day of talks and the Akademy party, hundreds of KDE contributors returned to the University of Tampere for the second day of the conference.

The KDE and GNOME communities are looking for a host for the Desktop Summit 2011, the combined annual conference featuring KDE's Akademy and GNOME's GUADEC events.
