I'm using Ubuntu 9.10, so in order to set the fonts and themes I use the gnome-appearance-settings dialog. Then I found this tiling window manager named xmonad. At the gdm login screen, I chose xmonad instead of gnome. What I found is that in xmonad the settings I did for the fonts and theme in gnome are not respected. As far as I know, linux settings are just files.
So, I reinstalled a plain version of KDE two days ago. (Is there a plain KDE version without all the KDE applications available for Ubuntu? and now the "GTK+ Appearance" options are missing in the KDE settings. (System Settings -> Application Appearance -> GTK+ Appearance).
How can I get this setting back? The GTK+ Apps look horrible without it.
I am trying to install some new themes in xubuntu 12.04 and I cannot seem to make them work.
I went into my home/username folder and created a .themes folder and extracted them all there . but they do not show up in the appearance tab in the settings manager.
so after some digging i found the standard themes in usr/share/themes.
But I cannot move my themes folders into the usr/share/thems folder.
Found a lot of themes while surfing websites for the best Dark Gnome Themes, those themes will required GTK 2.x , Emeraled, compiz for extra visualization. you can make your own customization using Emeraled or basically customize theme from Appearance Preferences.
Hello, I'm sure a few will have asked this question, but I can't find any solution on here so here goes.
Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830. I once changed the appearance of my text messages, meaning, the colour/shape of the bubble and the background to like a note pad style, this looked much better.
Thank you for info. I really appreciate it.I removed everything reffering to Enlightenment (including themes, icons, config dir etc.) and then I installed only e-svn (with dependencies ofc) so I have "clean" E17 and now I have it.After it I installed e17-themes to check if the problem is solved by doing this, but it's not.p.s.
Hey guys, I made a trivial/stupid error and I can't solve it, even google didn't help.
Accidentally, while playing with themes, windows etc. I removed the "Appearance" menu somehow. How to put it back/reinstall it? I can't find which app this was...
Now I can't even change my background settings :P
Unity on Ubuntu 12.10 x64.
Thanks
Now I updated to 12.10 and would like to adjust the desktop, well unity, appearance.
I know there is the theme setting, but I cannot adjust the symbol theme or windows decoration with the systemsettings.
I used to use the tool "unsettings" but it doesn't work with 12.10 anymore.
I'm running ubuntu 12.04 and for the life of me I am not able to install any properly working gtk+ themes!
I am able to install them so that they show up in the tweak tool, yet they're all not working...right. Like the color of the font will be really light and everything just generally does not look like the preview.
