Someone deleted the panel on my kde and ever since the panel couldnt be recovered.. is there anyway that i can reset the whole kde environment as i cant even get updatess to install.

My panel for all the shortcuts was at the bottom right and then the one that showed whichever apps you had open was on the left. Somehow I accidentally deleted the one on the left. To remedy this, I right clicked the panel below and looked through the available widgets and chose something that sounded like the same thing.
I'm having problems with the XFCE top panel in Ubuntu Studio 12.04. Several times a day when I click on the open tabs, nothing happens and the right hand side log out/shut down menu also is gone. I have to do a hard reboot. Rebooting restores the panel.
I've just been investigating the Panel Preferences and see that there are two panels.

I'm running Gnome 3 desktop on 11.10. Today the automatic update changed LibreOffice to Version 3.5 and changed 2 launch icons (for Writer and Calc) in my top panel to 'No Entry' signs. In trying to delete these I Alt-RightClicked the panel and chose the delete option, because the icon exactly matched what I was seeing.
No surprisingly, I now no longer have a top panel. I've got some ammo.
Hello all,I'm running Statler Xfce amd64, and I have deleted the tint2 panel (complete removal through Synaptic), because I wanted to use Xfce's own panel instead. After doing 'sudo xfce4-panel' it starts, but my problem is that it's lost after reboot.
I had a friend who has since moved install Ubuntu 10 on my old laptop and was enjoying learning all the benies when my panel just stopped loading up one day. I looked on the net for a fix and found out there was a much newer version so i loaded it alongside 10. Well neither system would load the panel.
