Since the solutions here don't work for you - hardly surprising since they are from 2008 - the fact that this is marked as [solved] is unlikely to get you much assistance. (The 2010 post is not even about Arch.)This is a shame because your post does many other recommended things, even though it violates the forum etiquette in this one particular.One thing you could try is to move your ~/.kde4 aside temporarily to see if that solves the issue. That way, you'll at least know if it is a config issue in your home or not. KDE (HowTos)
