VMware vSphere 4
SAN storage with multiple data-stores
No vCenter
I shut-down a virtual machine and using the data-store browser did a copy/paste to copy the VM to a new datastore with additional space. The file copy performance was very poor, and due to time constraints I decided to cancel the copy task.
I have a directory that have zillions of files. As soon as I try to copy this directory, I receive a message that a file could not be copied (corrupt ?) and the copy stops.
Is there any command I can type on terminal that can check all files on that directory tree and list all files that could not be copied or that are corrupt?
I've created a 8GB disk image (ext4) from a partition of USB flash drive via 'dd'. I mount it to a directory:
mount -o loop disk.img mount_dir/
I can access the files inside it. The problem is that when I copy files to the mount_dir, the system seems to have large IO Wait and the system is nearly hang. I also tried to copy only few small files.
M File Anti-Copy is a special security software that enable us to lock the files from being copied by unauthorized person to other media. With this new M File Anti-Copy, you files will be saved without having to worry the file stolen by others.
I'm trying to keep two java source trees in sync, but they've got different package names, so I'm building a script to copy from one tree to the other. So I want to do a recursive copy, but as I copy the files I want to run them through something like sed to replace package and import names. Is there a clever command line way to do this?
Dear Buddies
Hi
I can't copy files from ubuntu drive to my flash memory. When I copy the file, The paste icon is inactive on my flash memory. How can I fix it?;)
I have set up a new pc, and I want to copy data from my old pc to it, without having to manually copy everything to an external drive.
I guess I could do something with rsync over ssh, but have no idea of how to accomplish that.
Anyone?
When copying large (or even files of a few KB) to an sd card from ubuntu 10.10, the files appear to be there but when i access the card from another device, the files are either missing or 0 bytes in size.
I suspect that the problem is that it takes time for the files to copy to the card and I'm taking it out too soon but there is no progress bar - im just doing it from cmd line.
