When you pick up the file, use Alt+Tab to switch applications. When Audacity comes up, just drop it in.

gnome-shell freezes randomly 36 weeks 3 days ago

Until just a few days ago, my gnome shell was working fine, but now it takes longer to log in, and often freezes (keyboard and mouse and consoles work, nothing else). Could someone please tell me which files I should post to make it easier for others to help me?  Thanks! ~UnsolvedCypher

And it looks like there is a solution! In order to switch to something like Caps Lock or Alt Shift, you need to set the shortcut for "Modifiers-only switch to next source" rather than "Switch to next input source". To set it, you need to press and hold the disable button, mouse over the one you want (Caps Lock), and release the mouse.
