http://linuxgamingnews.org – Jordan Brock sent me an email about a game he is working on with his team called Just Tactics (they are also working on a new website ). Just Tactics is a free (for now) turn based, online multiplayer, 1v1, tactical war game involving squads and deck building. They Follow the “Minecraft business model” in which they give the game for free at first and as the game development progresses they start charging money from lower to higher (so those who buy early get a better price). More often than not Final Fantasy Tactics for people who grew up on Playstation. Shining Force for the older crowd like me. But on the PC it is a little harder to come across any games of this genre. Sure there are a few but none really like that Final Fantasy Tactics feel.

Hello, I'd like to introduce my new game - Forgotten Tales MMORPG.

Altitude, a multiplayer action game developed and published by Nimbly Games, will be arriving on Steam for Linux, soon.

Altitude is a 2D action game, in which the player controls a plane and fights in huge multiplayer battles, against friends or other online users.

The game comes with a few multiplayer modes, including Free For All, Team Deathmatch, Demolition, and 1-life Deathmatch.

Toribash is a ragdoll-physics, turn-based fighting game. Create your own martial arts movies in single player sandbox mode, or join the competition in the multi player modes.

The focus is on tactics rather than reaction and button mashing. The game features physics, full dismemberment, decapitation and comic style blood.

If you do a quick search about strategy games in Ubuntu 11.10‘s Software Center, then you may find a lot of strategy games to try but in this post I’ll introduce you with a turn-based tactical strategy game.
