Just how TERRIBLE is the battery life ?

http://forum.xda-developers.com – I wanted to get this phone as a replacement to my Nokia N8. Having been loyal to Nokia over the years, I'm used to absolutely excellent battery life, where I get a good 2 days of normal use, or easily get through 1 day of heavy use. Would the Galaxy Nexus be a really bad step down ? Can anyone suggest their average battery life when having: 25% screen brightness, GPS/BT/NFC/etc off until needed. Sync only for WhatsApp Messaging 1-2 hours a day Music 2-3 hours a day Browsing 1 hour a day (HowTos)

I've seen lots of battery life forums, and most of them show great battery life (over 12 hours) with lots of screen time. I'm not even in an LTE area, but I get very good signal. My screen brightness is at about 30% and I have two e-mail accounts (Exchange push and Gmail sync).

Just wondering how much battery life you guys are getting on average.

Please post battery life, screen on time, kernel, and ROM.

First, here's the constants: I keep wifi/BT/GPS on 100% of the time. This was true when battery life was good, and now that battery life is bad. Disabling these will improve battery life, but will not fix my problem.

When the phone is sleeping overnight, I used to get 8-12% battery usage over about 8 hours.

I know we have a lot of battery life threads and I absolutely love this phone but mine is not getting good battery life. I'm an advanced android user, I know it well and I do know that some devices just have bugs which kill battery life.

My battery seems to be different to all of you.. It only stays like 8 hours of phone using (social apps, whatsapp, some videos and some games) It gets from 100 to 15 in 8 hours of using

That's was on stock ROM..

I just got my first Android phone and its a Galaxy Nexus running Jelly Bean. The first two days I was getting around 4-5 hours of battery life and then started reading up on this forum and did a bunch of suggested changes like turning off NFC, location services etc. Also, downloaded Juice Defender and now the battery life is around 7 hours.

So I've been talking to anyone and everyone for the last 6 months about how awesome a phone Note 2 would be. And finally when I got the chance, I upgraded to it (you know, dog eat dog food?) from iPhone 4. Well, about a week or so in, I'm frustrated with this phone. The battery life is terrible. Terrible.

I was wondering which rom you guys could recommend for better than stock battery life? Seems like a lot of the roms are tweaked for smoothness and speed not battery life. Currently on d3rpICS but the battery life isn't so great...barely getting 8 hours with 1 hour on screen time. If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Well I'll get straight into it, no matter which ROM I flash battery life sucks. I've gone from OA to CM7.2 with OC kernel now.

Just today I charged my phone fully, took it off the charger and played music ever since. I take a look at my phone and its at 70% after two hours with the screen off.
