http://www.unix.com – We have a WAN boot jumpstart server which works fine .. we have a requirement wherein we would require to jumpstart multiple sparc servers simultaneously, Whats the way .. so that we do not have to wait for a server complete the installation before starting with another server. Any help would be appreciated. (HowTos)

Hi Guys, I am little bit confused about jumpstart on solaris 10. Do you need the mac address for each system you intend to jumpstart? If you need the mac address, how will you get it? Say your server is in another location and you want to jumpstart it, how will you do it?

Clarification on this will really be appreciated.

I have a laptop and need to build an Oracle Linux kickstart server and a Solaris Jumpstart server that can build sparc and x86 systems.

Is the best way to create a dual boot from grub for Oracle Linux and Solaris x86?

Can the Oracle Kickstart be used as a Jumpstart to build both Solaris 10 sparc and x86?

Currently the laptop has Windows installed but I was going to partition the hard drive.

I have one question about Jumpstart Server.

I have OS Solaris 10 10/06 x86 on my PC. I use NFS for share flar archives. I create tftpboot macros for DHCP - dhcpmgr. My clients file is here:

Hello Community.

I had installed solaris 5.10 OS on an X86 server using a custom-jumpstart installation program and it was performed successfully.

Due to some issues, i had to go for reinstallation using the same jumpstart but this time it failed giving below error.

Code: Starting Solaris installation program... Searching for JumpStart directory...  <<< using DVD inst

I am facing a problem in jumpstart While install it is asking still lot of questions. Please help me in my configuration so that it will not ask any of the question.

I'm hoping for a high level discussion of this problem I know is quickly approaching my application.
