Cannot state what flavors/versions of Linux I am working as I consult with a company running many variants as old as 10 years. I am not a "sysadmin" type, more an application grunt but get involved often enough in "deep" Linux problems that I've more than once found my way here to tap the knowledge of real gurus. I've been searching all morning for an answer to this and getting nowhere.
Auto-correct is not working when I'm using voice dictation. For the most part I can handle this, but the part that's killing me is the lower case letters. Auto-capitalisation of the first letter of any sentence is fine, but after that I'm on my own. The annoying part is "I".
I've seen so many times that programmers were confused about shell quoting and white spaces interpretation, that I decided to investigate that problem deeper. And my conclusion is that quoting in shells is very different from other programming languages.
