I sitting and trying to make some execises with Android. My point for today is to make simple application which will download data (images from URLs) and show them in ImageView control in the layout. I saw some examples on the web and have done my app. Everythink seems to be ok but when I push the button i starts its job but then fails showing error : NULL POINTER 9error reading file).
I want to install Android SDK, so I manually installed Java JDK 7u51, downloaded SDK ADT bundle for Linux x64, and tried to run it. When I run android, the SDK manager windows hangs halfway through the initial downloading process every time. Opening it with the terminal gives me

I'm not sure if this is a java problem or is related to ubuntu. I'm on an ubuntu 14.04 machine and I have both Java 6 (jdk_1.6.0_43) and Java 7(jdk_1.7.0_51). JAVA_HOME is set to java 7 and that is what my PATH env var is referring to.
I have installed java on my computer running CentOS 7. I've tried yum install java downloading the proper rpm for my bitness from java.com/en/download. I've also done as suggested in this how to enable java in Browser on Centos 6.5 and installed icedtea-web
