Hi,
I often download different distros and try them out, but is there a way to check the checksum while downloading the iso? I think that the download must complete first to do the checksum, right? I have a slow net connection and thus i have to use BitTorrent or Gwget download manager. Thanks.
The download has got stuck on the first file (ubuntu-12.10-wubi-amd64.tar.xz) and it won't continue.I have like 50 hours remaining time for my download to complete.Anyone knows what's wrong?
Edit: my internet connection works fine.i tried to download with firefox and chrome as well but still, nothing changed.
I have already asked this question in the official Firefox forum ( http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic … #p11054591 ) but get no useful answer. When I am about to download a file (the download dialog), the file begin downloading before I have clicked the "save as" button.
I have a ~35 GB file on a remote Linux Ubuntu server. Locally, I am running Windows XP, so I am connecting to the remote Linux server using SSH (specifically, I am using a Windows program called SSH Secure Shell Client version 3.3.2).
Although my broadband internet connection is quite good, my download of the large file often fails with a Connection Lost error message.

I want to download this game 0A.D. from http://www.playdeb.net/software/0%20A.D. .deb file. They keep their file up to date with the source code, so they have the newest versions. I don't want apturl to handle it. I just want the deb so I can install in on a machine at home which does not have an internet connection. How can I just download the .deb file it points to.
I am using Linux for two years or so. I have seen that you can create your own linux distros. My question comes regarding the legallity of doing so.
I have a server in USA (Linux box B), and my home PC (Linux box A),
and I need download a file from website C,
The issue is, it is very slow to download a file direct from A,
so I need download the file when I log in B, and sftp get the file from A.
Is there any way that I can download file and use B as proxy directly through only one line command?
