All of a sudden when I press: d - I either see d typed in or I get a print screen window e - I either see e typed or I see volume bar rise c - I either see c typed or I have many different effects (depends on context) So far I'm unable to tell what is the "trigger" or "toggle" for this peculiarity. I'm frankly at a loss what to investigate. Few findings: - while this first manifested in a browser (FF + Vimperator) this is NOT browser limited - GVim, terminal even tty (I switched to it) can have that - In tty d becomes \; and c becomes ^[[5~b and presses Enter. I typed su to get superuser privileges in my ubuntu 12.10 and then typed startx to start the x-server.After the x-server started successfully,i typed reboot command.It gave a broadcast message printed on the terminal and restarted.Login screen appeared.but even when i typed correct pasword,the useraccount is not getting unlocked.instead it is rebooting once again.i have very important data stored

I've installed CentOS 6.3 and i run the command

yum install httpd

after successfully installed I've typed in the terminal

service httpd start

nothing happend i did opened the browser and typed my ip address but Unable to connect

Laptop keyboard read issues 40 weeks 5 days ago

I am using Fedora 17 on an HP Pavilion dv7 and am having some issues with the keyboard. My keyboard functions correctly most of the time, but increasingly, there are moments where Fedora seems to stop reading from the keyboard buffer and discards anything typed after that. After a second or two, it goes back to normal, but everything I typed during that period never shows up on the screen.

Whenever I type in a BASH command longer than about half the size of the shell window I'm in, the command breaks like it would if I filled the whole screen

3rd command in image - typed a few xs and got the expected result. 4th command - typed a load more xs, and the command broke back to the start as though it had filled the whole line.

Alt-Tab Forces Me to Reboot 1 year 16 weeks ago

I'm using Ubuntu 11.10 according to my help. When I press alt-tab, the display flashes a bit and then all my windows have no title bar. Without a title bar at the top, I can't even restart. All I can do is turn off the power. I had a terminal window open during one of these alt-tab presses, and I'm unable to type in the terminal window.
