Subject says it all.
I know that a lot of people had problems finding modprobe which was mostely due to an unconfigured $PATH. This time however I logged into a machine (Linux mymachine 2.6.32-6-pve #1 SMP Mon Jan 23 08:27:52 CET 2012 i686 GNU/Linux with root rights) and modprobe wasn't found at all.
I have installed squid proxy server at server side so that all PCs connected to the server will access internet through it.I have made changes in squid.conf file also.I have added these two lines:-

http_access allow localnet

I know for a fact that iptables running is causing my instance of Apache Solr to be inaccessible.
How do I know this? Because I ran:
/sbin/service iptables save && /sbin/service iptables stop
Once I did this, everything worked flawlessly.
I would like to continue using my firewall however, adding the necessary rules for it doesn't seem to be working.
Using Fedora 17.
With F16, I fixed the problems with the Broadcom BCM4321 wi-fi card in my Dell Vostro 1500 following the instruction in the (now closed) thread:
