iPad sold out for first week of pre-order

Those quick enough to pre-order an iPad for its launch week are undoubtedly counting their blessings with the news that delivery of pre-orders has now been pushed back to April 12, likely making consumers who’ve waited wonder if they might as well just wait for the 3G version to arrive late April instead.

The iPad 2’s 1am online ordering launch window must have seen massive traffic, for between 1 and 2am, it was impossible to place an order, with online ordering seemingly now working at 2.05am again.

Too many orders or not enough iPads? Either way, if you haven't already placed your pre-order for the iPad you'll have to wait until at least June 8th for delivery.

There hasn’t yet been a week’s worth of sales to count since the iPad launched on Saturday April 3rd, with Easter holidays closing some stores, but it’s clear to see that 300,000 iPad sales a day keeps the iTablet competitors at bay!
