In the 2 former articles of this series we have saw OCSInventory and Fusion Inventory 2 software that can create an asset inventory with your computers hardware and software, they both work with agents on the remote machines that send the information on a central server, where you can see, manage and query these information.
I am trying to parse through set of data from large txt file and only intersted in output below . i am using below awk command to get the output but it only shows first line , i need to see the rest of the output under hardware inventory.
How can I get the hardware inventory details of the Sun Servers like T5220 running Solaris 10?
I would like to see the following details:
1. Chassis Information - Part Number, Serial Number etc.
2. Slots Present in the chassis
3. Modules/Cards equipped on the slots. Module details like Part Number and Serial Number.
Poor PC sales have hit semiconductor suppliers hard, leaving them with "alarmingly high levels" of chips held in inventory. If things don't pick up in 2013, this will mean significant inventory write-downs throughout the year.
I want to know different kinds of practices that people are using to manage inventory of servers. What I mean by inventory of servers is basically database that tracks basic information of servers such as hostname, OS type, management ip address.
