well I'm not really sure of anything when it comes to this stuff, and this is why I'm here. But it wasn't working before I started blacklisting things, just followed the wiki and blacklisted stuff that were said to work.Recently I found a thing on the wiki for Acer One laptops (not mine but similar).
I just bought my new netbook Acer Aspire One 722. It works fine on Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit version. Everything works good beyond microphone (external and internal). Internal works middling because it's very silent (despite the fact that in alsamixer is set to maximum, You can do something about it ?) and external doesn't work at all. When I connect external mic simply nothing happens.
I have got an Acer Aspire 7750G: More info
It has been running Ubuntu since I bought the laptop (12.10 as of now), but a few updates ago, I lost my microphone.
It doesn't recognise the internal mic or the mic jack (although alsa seems to recognise it).
I have been looking around, and I fixed it, but this was only temporary, after a reboot my mic was gone again.
p { margin-bottom: 0.08in; } I have installed Ubuntu Netbook 10.10 on my Acer Aspire One D250 and I have no microphone input from the built in microphone. When I check Sound Preferences, input device tab I have no microphone listed at all. In the box labeled Choose a device for sound input; the only option in the box is Internal Analog Audio Stereo. Has anyone had this problem?
My laptop (Acer Aspire 7738g) has two front speakers and left speaker, but as default sound come only from front speakers.
When I change in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf the following line:
options snd-hda-intel model=acer-aspire-6530g
Left speaker is working, but only left channel is played on it.
I just installed Ubuntu 12.10 on a Acer Aspire One ZG5 (AOA 110), then Skype, and I can't make the microphone work. I tried this method with alsamixer
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AspireOne522#Microphone
but it doesn't works. The sound is not recognized by alsamixer, nor by the sound settings.
I can't get sound out from my Acer Aspire 5742. Not from internal and not from external speakers.I have set volumes and everything from alsamixer, but still nothing.
hi,
Just wondering if anyone could tell me how the models in alsa-base.conf ( see model list here )are configured.
The model is Aspire 5552NWXCi, to be specific. Almost everything works (wireless, touchpad scrolling, multimedia keys, graphic) Some problem I found is the sound port, card reader, and microphone. Microphone doesn't work including internal and external...
