So, this is driving me nuts and I'm convinced I'm just missing something trivial. Essentially, I have a htpc with a clean install of Fedora 17 that serves 3 purposes:
1. mythtv frontend for video/audio (from github... dependencies through yum) through gt520 hdmi for the tv/movie piece
2. squeezeslave (from sourceforge) for audio through onboard intel audio for the mp3 piece
3.
I got a new TV and I get no sound through HDMI from my arch htpc. However, I don't think the problem is the TV because:1) Audio from other hdmi sources works2) When i connect the htpc to a monitor through hdmi and restart, the audio works.
My HTPC has been running on Ubuntu 11.10 (plan to upgrade to 12.04 some day, but too many things broke right off the bat for me to want to deal with it now).
Hello, running 12.10 amd64 on a ASUS M5A88-M Motherboard with a built in RS880 [Radeon HD 4250] graphics card.
I've got a nice 5.1 surround sound AV receiver which only accepts HDMI, so I'm not interested in any other way to play audio other than HDMI. I've built a home theatre PC, so having the graphics on the MoBo cuts down on space, power and fan noise.
Hi, just want to report on some experiences and to see if anyone else has experienced similar.
i upgraded from 11.04 to 12.04 LTS about a month or so ago. the system i use is mainly for a htpc, so lots of storage ~10TB, not much cpu (2.8Ghz intel 775) and 4gb ram.
Hi. I've done some poking around and while I found some threads with HDMI audio issues, none seemed exactly like what I'm experiencing, so I wanted to ask for some help.
My system is a: MythTV Box running 12.04 / .25myth. It's connected to an HDMI receiver that then transmits both audio and video to a 47" 1080p tv.
I just spent hours to configure the sound to work with HDMI.
My last problem is, when I start playing sound the TV screen goes on and off, like when you change the resolution. When I stop playing sound, 3-5 seconds after, the same thing happen.
I feel like everytime I play/stop the sound, the HDMI connection needs to be resetted.
Hi all. I'm running Kubuntu 12.10 64 on an ASUS eeebox 1501. It runs an older NVIDA ion system. I recently got a surround sound system and have managed to get ubuntu to play audio via the HDMI out (took a while to figure out I had to unmute S/PDIF).
The problem is that when playing most audio files, the sound skips every 30 seconds (almost exactly, e.g. skips at 0:30, 1:29, 1:59).
I just bought a asus z77 lx motherboard with an i5-3570k. Everything is running so fast and smooth, but the audio only detects and hdmi device.
When I'm playing a video or something that uses sound, the volume bar goes up, but nothing comes out of my speakers (attached through the rear audio port....that much should be obvious though since the only hardware this detects is the hdmi audio out.
