Thanks to patches surfacing on public mailing lists on Monday that continue work on the open-source enablement of Intel Haswell graphics under Linux, we have a look at the different variants of Haswell.

After talking for months about the Linux kernel and driver development for Intel's Ivy Bridge successor, the heatsink can be lifted today on talking about Intel's Haswell processor. For the past few weeks I have been running and benchmarking an Intel Core i7 4770K "Haswell" processor on Linux to mixed success.

For the past several months there's been open-source driver development activities within the Linux kernel and Mesa library as it pertains to Haswell, the 2013 Intel micro-architecture to succeed this year's successful Ivy Bridge platform.

Already published on Phoronix have been Intel HD Graphics 4600 benchmarks on Ubuntu Linux from the Intel Core i7 4770K "Haswell" processor and compared against previous generations of Intel HD Graphics.

On a fresh install of Arch Linux, despite being an amateur at best. I'm using ATI HDMI audio using the open source driver, on GNOME 3.

Hi,I'm having some difficulty with audio with Intel Z77 "Panther Point" HDA (8086:1E20)I can see HDMI out for the integrated HDMI but not the analog audio for my headphones.I can't see any mention of the output in pavucontrol or the mixer.Output of cat /proc/asound/{cards,devices,modules,version}: 0 [PCH ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel PCH HDA Intel PC

I've bought a tv a few days ago, tried to connect my laptop via hdmi cable to it - worked perfectly, I just had to choose right audio device output as hdmi and it worked with no issues.

So I've tried to connect my desktop computer to the tv using hdmi cable - video works with no issues, but there's no sound.

After upgrading from 12.04 to 12.10 I'm unable to play any audio on my laptop.

Just switched to CrunchBang  a few days ago. Loving it so far. After installing had two issues first was network which i figured out through the help of posts on here, and the second audio. I have gone through every post on here, and every other linux forum and page I could find through google.  Nothing has worked.
