hi i had windows 8 and it crashed, so i decided that i would install Ubuntu to replace it. i installed 12.10 and my wireless card (for wifi and wimax) will not connect to any network. my computer us an asus u56-e with a Intel centrino wireless-n 6150 wifi wimax card.
Huawei says the mobile WiMAX network it supplied to Perth based vividwireless is the world's first to use four transmit and receive antennas and beamforming and is able to deliver bandwidths of 36Mbps downstream and 4Mbps upstream 3kms from the base station.
My laptop's Wi-Fi stopped working when I upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04 (wired works). I just reinstalled 12.04 over my old 12.04 on which Wi-Fi didn't work either in an attempt to restore any settings I may have accidentally changed, but it still doesn't work. I also used a wired connection to install updates in case this bug has been fixed, but it has not.
My understanding is the EVO V 4G will be running on Virgin Mobiles 4G WiMax network..Does this indicate that when I make a call it looks for a WiMax tower or only if I loading data and have my settings to 4G ? I noticed in my settings no 4G service is available ?
Nothing is working, sorry for the delay but i was out for a time .What is this?:[ 5.276082] ipw2200: Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200/2915 Network Driver, 1.2.2kmprq
