None exist. You need a proper compositor, not a reference one like compton, or you have to turn compositing off when watching videos. It's got to do with how the Intel driver handles something called the XV overlay, a key component in the vertical syncing of videos.
I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, and while using Ubuntu (unity 3d) full screen video playback is very choppy. This includes, VLC, movie player, and to a lesser extent youtube videos. However, not all video playback is choppy: smaller-sized or windowed videos run smoothly.

I found this app few days back in xda (Google Floating Video Player) and installed on my S3. Looks amazing. Its smooth and now I feel like enjoying all videos on my device. I can zoom in and out my videos and also can float the videos on my home screen.
I have HP ProBook 4530s laptop with AMD Radeon HD 6490M graphics card.
