Install/Update Latest Google Chrome 20 Stable in Ubuntu

http://ubuntuguide.net – The latest stable version of Google Chrome has been updated to 20.0.1132.57 for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chrome Frame. Along with some security fixes, this build contains an update to Flash player, v8 (3.10.8.20) and couple of stability/bug fixes. Install or Update the latest stable google chrome in Ubuntu: 1.) For a fresh installation, download .deb package of chrome: Download Google Chrome Then install the package. It’s recommended that use this command to install the .deb (Ctrl+Alt+T to open terminal): sudo dpkg -i ~/Downloads/google-chrome-stable_*.deb sudo apt-get -f install 2.) (HowTos)

Trying to install Google Chrome on my fresh Ubuntu 12.04 install. I have run a full apt-get upgrade and apt-get update on this system before installing Chrome. I downloaded the 32-bit deb package from www.chrome.com and opened it in Ubuntu Software Center.

I'm doing a fresh install of 12.10 and am trying to install Google Chrome.

So, I've been using Google Chrome (-stable) as my main browser for weeks. I just ran an update which grabbed a new version, and all of a sudden Chrome won't launch at all.The new version is 20.0.1132.47-r144678I've tried removing and re-installing it (and managed to get my package manager messed up in the process... but I think it's working now). No change.

Very recently, my kernel was upgarded from 3.2.0-25-generic to 3.2.0-26-generic through Update Manager. Since then, my google chrome cannot be opened up as usual from Dash Home or command line (google-chrome) although I can see it sleeping in the System Monitor. Now I have to run Google Chrome using command

google-chrome --disable-bundled-ppapi-flash

but have to sacrifice Flash function.
