Installing Wine: error: target not found: wine

https://bbs.archlinux.org – Hello, new Arch Linux user here.Either I am doing something wrong, or some thing is wrong with the installation.Each time I try invoking 'pacman -S wine' the error I stated in the title returns.I am using x86_64 Arch Linux. Is there something I am forgetting? It's quite possible that I did not setup Arch for multilib properly.Any help is appreciated. Most common reason for this is not un-commenting multilib properly in pacman.conf - uncomment all three lines[multilib] SigLevel = PackageRequired Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlistThen you need to sync your pacman db to download the multilib db.  If you're sure all these things are fine, then you need to change mirror.

Please edit your first post and edit the title, adding [Solved].  Also, reinstalling might have been a good thing, giving you a better understanding of what is going on.  But know that one of the great things about being an Arch user is being immersed in the internals of the OS enough that you can typically fix whatever is borked.  I'm not saying that it was the wrong thing to

Does 3.5.3-1-ARCH from [testing] work wo/ errors?  Does 3.4.9-1-ARCH?  I didn't understand your first post.

When using Ubuntu, I don't know that I really knew exactly what X was...Arch has taught me Linux in it's purest form, plus I learn more everyday!

Picassa 3.9 on Arch 13 weeks 3 days ago

I'm getting the idea that picassa 3.9 and Arch linux via wine don't work.  Specifically everytime I attempt to login my google account, the popup box crashes states its going to send an error report.  If tried installing winetricks and ie6.  Is there any way to get this working, or is the change in the google login authentication mechanism just totally a no go?

Where did you get these packages from? If you're using pacman on an ARM device, please go to http://archlinuxarm.org/Arch Linux is not for ARM devices, Arch Linux ARM is.
