http://askubuntu.com – I just downloaded ubuntu 12.10, and I want to install it on my acer aspire laptop. Here's my acer specifications: -Intel Pentium Dual Core Processor @ 1.86 GHz -2,5GB of RAM -500GB HDD -Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 My question is: can I install ubuntu 12.10 on my laptop with those specs? I would like to know how I can configure the drivers for the graphic cards from my Acer Aspire 6920 in Ubuntu 9.10.

The card is an Intel Mobile Graphic Media Accelerator X3100

Hi ! I bought laptop Acer Aspire 5742ZG-P624G50Mnkk and installed ubuntu 11.04. I tried installing the nvidia driver from the site or from the repository for my NVIDIA GT520M card and... I got black screen instead of login screen. While I have it I can change between teh different run levels and on Lv7 I can enter my password and I hear the sound for logging but... nothing changes...
