Installing Stock ICS Keyboard on Stock ROM

http://androidforums.com – Ok, I saw a few posts but none of them really helped me. So I pulled the stock ICS keyboard the latinIME.apk and tried to install it on the stock rom because I despise that keyboard. Anyways, I can install it like normal and everything runs fine. The second I move it to the /system/app folder all heck breaks loose and I get an error every 5 seconds on the phone that I believe com.android.inputmethod.latin has stopped working and asks if I want to report it to HTC. I have already removed the HTC Input just fine and like I said if I keep it as a standard app in the /data/app folder it runs just (General)

Im stock unrooted . I am not able to get the Samsung qwerty keyboard in the input method. only the Swype seems to be working . Even if i change it in the settings, it ain't working. The gesture type keyboard comes over . Any solutions please. thanks in advance.

Would like to know everyones opinion of Swift Key vs the Stock Keyboard. I am new to android, but have used both over the last couple weeks. I havent noticed any real advantage to Swiftkey. I think they both have very similar features. Both do a good job of suggesting words and corrections. In some ways I like the stock keyboard better, just not sure yet.

What does everyone think?

Th phone is a Huawei U9510.

Word suggestion/prediction only works with the English input method on the Android stock keyboard. Same with the onboard keyboard from Huawei.

The phone is running ICS 4.0.4.

Any ways/ideas on how to download Norwegian words, or how to fix this annoying bug?

This does not require root and works with the stock ICS rom.

This is the new 4.2 keyboard with google's version of Swype. It will work on ICS 4.0 or higher.

You can download the APK and put it on your sd card.

I have a TF101 with the latest Revolver on it. I also have the Swype like capability from Android 4.2... through the Asus stock keyboard. No predictions while swiping, but everything else works including normal predictions, and no crashes at all.

Is this normal? ;)

I need help! I rooted my evo LTE, and in the mist of trying to remove arrows off the stock keyboard.. i removed the whole thing. how can i get it back?

I'm just wondering if anyone else has this problem. So, for a long time now, my phone will randomly act funny when trying to longpress things on the keyboard when typing. It is random and does not always occur. It has happened in Swiftkey X, Swiftkey 3 Beta, Swiftkey 3, Froyo stock keyboard, ICS stock keyboard, and now Jellybean stock keyboard. I am currently running the Toasted Marshmellow rom.
