There is a closed , question at Battery Indicator Missing.
But I have the problem and have not found any solution yet.
Also reported a bug but no replies again. https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/197436
I updated the kernel from 3.2 to 3.4 precise.
Hi,
I made a script with 5 lines, each a wget statement:
Code:
wget -c http://...
wget -c http://...
wget -c http://...
wget -c http://...
wget -c http://...
And ran it.
Noticed the same yesterday. After a base install, you have to manually install wget.You could try downloading the wget package on another machine and copy it over.

Sometimes it’s just not enough to save a website locally from your browser. Sometimes you need a little bit more power. For this, there’s a neat little command line tool known as Wget. Wget is a simple program which is able to download files from the Internet.
I was trying to install TeamViewer, and I followed the instructions here even though they specify 11.10 instead of 12.04 (what I'm running).
In particular, I executed.
$ wget http://www.teamviewer.com/download/teamviewer_linux.deb
$ sudo dpkg -i teamviewer_linux.deb
The dpkg command failed, and after this point my packaging system has been broken.
