Ubuntu shows the printer as the default printer. Listed as
Make & Model: Canon Pixma MP500 - cups+ Gutenprint v5.4
When using this printer under WINXP you can select a "FAST" print option. I am now using Ubuntu 12.04 (up to date) and it seems as if the only print options you can select are "STANDARD" and HIGH.(using the Pixma MP560 driver). Does any one know if it is possible to enable this function in Ubuntu and if so how? In WinXP this mode gives a econimical print function.
I wonder if anyone can help me please? I have a Canon Pixma iP7250 wireless printer and an Asus RT-N56U router. I installed the printer wirelessly with pukka Canon drivers thanks to someone on this forum and it always prints a test page successfully, but it won't print from any other program. The print queue box says "not connected?".
Just bought a Canon Pixma MX722 printer for the trailer. I checked, and it has LInux support from Canon. I did not use the driver that I just linked to, as the Canon USA site, when it detects my Linux system, tells me that the driver may be included with my distro. It is -- on my 14.04 machine.
