Hello,
I'm new to flashing and installing ROM on android phones.
I enabled root in this phone.
I wanted to install JellyBean 4.2.2.
After a long search on the internet and a lot of trying I decided to open a thread here.
My phone is Star N800 MTK6575 with Android 4.0.4.
When I tried to install ROM through recovery mode it showed me this:
"Failed to verify whole-file signature"
Hello, I've just registered to this forum for this one problem. So here is my problem: Today I rooted my Sprint Galaxy S3 running JellyBean 4.1. I decided I wanted to install a new ROM. So I went and downloaded the ROM I wanted (JellyBomb V11.0). And I moved the zipped file to the root of my phone, backed up everything, wiped my cache, and all data. Then I went to install it.
I have an application A that launches an intent to install application B(which is present in app A's data folder).
Once application B is installed, file managers like ASTRO can backup Application B's apk file.
So I want to prevent the user from manually installing it(say if he clicks on the backup apk file of Application B it should not install).
Is there a way to disable manual installation...
I'm new to linux and wanted to install a 3d cad software. I found one in google for linux so I downloaded the rpm to my Downloads folder. I'm use to just installing software through the manager so I had to look up how to install an rpm from command prompt.
After becoming root and getting to the folder where I downloaded the rpm I did a yum install with the name of the rpm.
I flashed a couple roms on my Nexus S but didn't like them so wanted to go back to stock. So to make sure I get the original update I flashed 4.0.4 on it. I set my phone up and everything and got the notification that there's an OTA. Of course I let it install. Phone shuts down, starts installing, CWM asks me if I want to run the untrusted file, I select yes and get a Status 7 error.
On my latest try flashing cm 7.1 acquired through ROM manager I had it backup my current ROM and wipe data, those processes worked fine although when trying to flash the rom it displayed and error message regarding the file downloaded and aborted the install, what can I do here ?
Note I am using Revolutionary CWM 4.0.1.4
