My question could be asked different ways;
How to install Ubuntu mini from the full iso without using the mini.iso ?
OR
What's the boot option line equivalent to the mini.iso ?

I'm having some issues installing Ubuntu Server on my mac mini 6,1. It does boot on the USB stick, install run smoothly but then after I have a 'No Operating System Found' message when i try to boot.
I've tried with & without EFI boot partition, setting it as bootable or not. I'm starting to be out of ideas to make it work.
I'd like to install it as the only system.
Thanks,

Hello.
I am trying to install (and did so) Ubuntu 12.04 on an external hard drive which I partitioned accordingly.
I'd like to fully install Ubuntu 12.10 onto a 16GB USB 3.0 flash drive, not create a live USB but to treat the flash drive as an external hard drive. I've read it's possible and I know my computer can boot from it. However, it doesn't work when I try. I've booted a Live USB from another flash drive and installed Ubuntu onto the 16GB one.
Hello,
I have a Mac Mini 1,1. I am trying to install Ubuntu on an external HD, an old Western Digital 80GB I had laying around.
I have a Compaq SR5130NX (originally Win7) which was given to us with no HDD. I installed a Seagate 40G hdd in the machine and installed 12.04 from the Live CD. No install errors reported. After install the computer will not boot - we get a Read Error.
Tested the HDD with SeaTools (DOS), drive looks good. Erased HDD and reinstalled 12.04.
So I downloaded the installer ISO and as per wiki wrote it onto an USB drive. My PC recognizes the USB perfectly and the Arch installer menu is shown. But the problem is that on my HP Mini 5102 the USB drive hangs my netbook on the HP boot logo (can't even enter the BIOS)...if the drive is out the machine works normally.
Hello,
I followed this thread http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1671331 and tried to install Windows XP on Mac Mini with MacOS and Ubuntu being already installed.
I created new Hybrid MBR and proceeded with an install of XP. When installation finished I rebooted the computer and tried to boot XP from hard disk via refit.
