Each time when I get to the part of the wizard that says "detecting network hardware" it zips through it and just hangs.
I have tried to install with and without the internet cable.
I have tried reburning the CD several times, both at default speed and slower (8x)
I have tried the USB stick ins
So, yeah, after trying to install Xubuntu 12.04 for about the sixth time and it repeatedly failing, I come to you!
A run through of what the issues are (bear with me):
Installation proceeds smoothly (using the alternative .iso image, I prefer the text based installer, and the GUI has been buggy in the past).
Howdy,
I have a 3ware Escalade 7006-2 hardware RAID PCI card configured as a mirror. I have successfully installed both Windows XP and Windows7 on this RAID in the exact same machine. At one point I even had a dual boot with FreeBSD and Windows XP installed on this RAID.
I'm trying to install Fedora17 on this RAID and the installer is not detecting the PCI card at all.
Hi,
I've a small home nas built with Ubuntu since 8.04, and regularly updated at each Ubuntu refresh (after a while, just for security).
After migrating to 11.4 from 10.10, I had the bad surprise discovering my hardware is no longer able to come back from sleep: the server simply hangs.
My hardware is an Intel D945GCLF2 motherboard with a Atom 330 dual core, with a RAID1 disk configuration.
Hi, I am attempting to install the x86-64 version of Ubuntu 12.10 on my desktop, but approximately 3/4 of the way through the install, it hangs and my display becomes corrupted. I have left it alone for 2 additional hours just to make sure that it isn't continuing installing in the background, and I have tried with the grab updates/3rd party toggles on and off.
I have an emachines T5212. It is an older computer (from 2007). I cannot boot to the Ubunutu live CD. I have tried the current version (11.10), the next most recent version (11.04), and the long term support version (10.04).
I don't think it is a linux specific hardware problem, because I can boot to G-Parted Live which, like Ubuntu, uses a debian-based kernel with a GUI.
The live version is working fine but when I try to install Waldorf the installer stalls at "detecting disks". I also cannot log in to windows because since I cleared the partition which had Statler originally, grub just loads up the recovery console. I am hoping that I did not cause any major damage, and this is just grub not being able to boot into #! and the windows partition is fine.
Hi!
I have a working Ubuntu 10.04 version installed on my laptop and am trying to upgrade to 12.04 using a fresh install. I have burned the general 386, 32 bit iso on to an USB stick using the Universal-USB-installer (as mentioned in the official documentation).
I can boot from the live-usb and it seems to work fine. So, I try to install.
I run my own consulting software shop, and I'm currently running SBS 2008 Premium. I'm not utilizing the second server at the moment, but when I finally get to SBS 2011 Premium I'd like to.
