Installer reading HD's wrongly

http://crunchbang.org – You have legacy grub installed in the MBR of sda1.And grub2 in the 'partition mbr' for a lot of distros. In this situation I would update the menu.lst file on partition sda2 to try and chainload the grub 2 bootloader from the #! partition. If that does not work, pick one distro to be your main distro. Boot from live media to chroot into the distro you chose.Install grub2 into the MBR of /dev/sdaIf that works, you will have a problem booting into your mepis install, because that is still using legacy grub.
