Installation gets stuck on Foxconn I1500 at step 5 "Select language"

http://askubuntu.com – Installing from a CD ROM ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS. Boots properly asks for language, I select English. Moves to the next step where I select "Install server". Next step (step five on this page: http://www.ubuntu.com/download/help/install-ubuntu-server) asks again for language, but system is stuck. Does not respond no matter what keys I press. Problem happens after every reboot. Tried "check CD rom integrity" and came out "integrity test successful", but gets stuck right at that last successful notification window. (HowTos)

I am trying to install ubuntu server on my pc , i have burned the ISO to an Cd and tried to burn it on a usb, in both cases it hangs at "Select a language" i cannot move nor select anything.

I have try several things but I do not know how to get past this, could anyone please help?

I've tried to install Ubuntu 11.04 and 12.04, but I have the same problem on both.

I proceed like this: I restart my computer, the language menu shows and I select my language, and then select to set up Ubuntu. Then I get a black page, and nothing else.

I have an ATI graphics card. My laptop is an HP G62 series.

What should I do to make the install work?

I tried to install utorrent by following the instructions available at http://www.liberiangeek.net/2012/01/install-utorrent-in-ubuntu-11-10-one... but when I got to the step of typing:

utserver -settingspath /opt/utorrent-server-v3_0/

into terminal I received the output:

server started - using locale en_AU.UTF-8 Using locale en_AU.UTF-8 File not found during integrity check: /opt/utor

I got up to downloading the second application Mail server, and am having trouble trying to locate and download fetchmail. Anyone know the command line/ where to find it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I need to download multiple files from an FTP server but occasionally they arrive in error so I need to perform an integrity check.

I'm kind of new to this whole "server" side and I'm having a hard time (almost 3 days) trying to install this new Ubuntu 11.10 using my 2 new 2TB hd.

Can somebody please explain me step by step how to setup this environment?
